"a pleasent stay at a pleasent hotel" - March 2010

Well my friend and I travel around the country going to gigs so we have a few b&b's scattered around that we always use. The sydney house hotel is now on the list. Although it was a short stay, the staff were friendly, the rooms excellent. Stayed in twin and there was ample room for 2 of us to move about so 10/10. As for brekkie top drawer. The full english was amazing and my mate had poached eggs which were presented like it was off a cookery show, ace. Overall fab hotel 5* 10/10.

A wonderful stay in a charming B&B. Very warm welcome, cosy yet very well equipped room, fantastic location (quiet, 10 minutes walk into town), very yummy breakfast and believe it or not all that came for a bargain price.

We arrived at the Sydney House Hotel on Sunday 14th February. We were immediately greeted with a smile and shown to our room which was on the second floor. The room was of a good size, big enough to sleep three, clean, and very nicely decorated. The ensuite bathroom was also very nice and included a bath. Within a stones throw from the hotel was a great Good Beer Guide pub which we visited.

Good value B&B close to all amenities. We have stayed in so called 3/4* hotels charging an aweful lot more that provided fewer in room facilities.

“You couldn't ask for more in a B&B”

A fantastic breakfast, lovely room, huge bed, great facilities and very warm welcome. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Shrewsbury.

“Lovely, low priced hotel”

The Sydney House Hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the town centre not far from the Welsh bridge. The owners are very friendly and the room was £35 a night which includes breakfast. The room was very small but fine for one person. There are no evening meals served but are plenty of places to eat within walking.

“A solid choice”

I stayed here for three nights in cold November. But the room was very warm and I felt comfortable there. It's about a 10 minute walk from town. I found the people friendly and the service good. Breakfast was very good and quite a bit more than I could eat.

Great little place, comfortable walk to town, on-site parking, very helpful staff and terrific breakfast. Would definitely recommend staying here.

“Lovely and cosy”

Really nice hotel, stayed here right in the middle of winter when it was really freezing. Hotel was lovely and snug and warm and the bedroom was very cosy and comfortable. The people who run it were very nice, polite and helpful. Not too far distance from town centre, great if you like a riverside stroll. All in all, great.
